At its meeting in Belgrade on November 30, 2011, the Assembly of the European Movement in Serbia elected a new leadership, adopted final reports and amendments to the Statute and accepted Union of European Federalists into collective membership. Professor Vlastimir Matejic, PhD, succeeds the former multi-year president Mr. Zivorad Kovacevic for the next two years. |

The first Belgrade Security Forum will be held from 14-16 September 2011 in Belgrade, Serbia. It is a new security initiative, hosted by the Belgrade Fund for Political Excellence, the European Movement in Serbia and Belgrade Centre for Security Policy, in order to place Belgrade and the region on the map of world security forums, where strategic topics are discussed. Over 300 domestic and foreign senior officials from European countries, representatives of the European Union, NATO, scientific and research institutes, civil society, parliamentarians and journalists will discuss topics such as: energy security; the new role of Turkey, NATO and Russia in Europe; consequences of regime changes in the Middle East on our security; recipes for successful regional security cooperation; experiences of women as the heads of ministries of defence or international organisations. |
